Laminate flooring is constructed by pressing together a photographic image of wood or tiles onto high density fibreboard. A special clear coat resin is pressed onto the top of the board in order to increase durability and to make it hard wearing. One of the key benefits of laminate is that it incorporates a click locking system which makes it fast and easy to install.

Why do People choose Laminate?
Laminate is now one the most fitted floor covering in the UK. Consumers are purchasing laminate flooring for many reasons. Firstly, it is a cost effective alternative to real wood flooring. The price of a good quality laminate floor can be over 60% cheaper than a traditional solid wood floor. Today's laminate is so realistic it is sometimes difficult to distinguish between it and a real wood floor.

Laminate flooring is very hygienic and doesn't attract or absorb dirt plus cleaning laminate is very easy. People who suffer from asthma or allergies benefit from laminate flooring as dust and pollen can be easily removed from the surface.

Compared to solid wood flooring, laminates are less likely to dent and scratch. This makes it an ideal choice for busy households or for areas which received a lot of foot traffic.

Laminated Flooring is available in a variety of thicknesses to suit every purpose and budget, ranging from the Basic 6mm laminate to the Premier 12mm collection. The increase in the thickness of the laminate is subsequently reflected in an increase in the quality and durability of your floor covering.

Laminate flooring is also easy to install due to the click locking system on each board. Many competent DIY enthusiasts will be able to install laminate by using the installation guide on this site, although we do recommend a professional floor fitter to install you flooring.
